Story

Hi & Welcome!

I'm Karen, owner and grower at Blue House Flower Farm. Our farm was started in my family's backyard in Mechanicsville, Virginia. My husband Matt, son Bauer, 2 lab puppies Mabel and Roy and I live in the "blue house on the corner". 

A couple years ago, I fell in love with the slow flower movement and the community that comes with it. I spend my days working in corporate America in front of a computer and I love the joy that being outside, digging in the dirt and watching my hard work make something as small as a seed bloom into something truly magnificent brings me.

At BHFF we grow a variety of cut flowers including tulips, ranunculus, anemones, zinnias, lisianthus, sunflowers, and dahlias. During the growing season, our flowers are harvested each morning and sold as mixed bouquets, subscriptions, and arrangements. We look forward to sharing more beauty from our garden with our local community!
